Local issues in Bexhill and Battle
We're collecting local issues in Bexhill and Battle. Some of these have been turned into questions to put to the candidates standing at the 2010 general election in the form of a questionnaire.
Issues are no longer being turned into questions, but we still want them! A good local issue will be about a problem of local relevance, possibly suggesting how something should have been/be done.
- Respite care, ambulance should be available to take ill and frail to nursing homes, one cannot drive and care for them.
- Water conservation, it's galling to be asked to save water, when the same leak in our road has been mended 3 times and still leaks, government should hold public bodies more accountable for standards
- Rye Hospital, could this be used for specialist and elderly respite care again? Hastings is too far to travel.
- fed up hearing what to do if someone has a stroke on tv, tell us how to prevent it, why isn't the NHS more focused on health, could it be that pharmaceuticals is one of our biggest industries?
- Water conservation public services be held more accountable., it is galling to be asked to save water
- to save on emissions why doesn't the government encourage more local production of food.
- Bring back village based police. If we have a problem it takes almost an hour for the police to arrive - if they even bother to consider ones call 'important'
- I just want honest MPs....
Local questions for candidate questionnaire
These are the questions that have been made out of the local issues Demoracy Club volunteers have posted. They'll make up the 'local' section of a questionnaire that TheyWorkForYou is developing in conjunction with Demoracy Club. Below the question is the local issue it's derived from.
Do you agree that ... ?
