Local issues in Edinburgh East
We're collecting local issues in Edinburgh East. Some of these have been turned into questions to put to the candidates standing at the 2010 general election in the form of a questionnaire.
Issues are no longer being turned into questions, but we still want them! A good local issue will be about a problem of local relevance, possibly suggesting how something should have been/be done.
- The trams project should be expanded to cover more of the city.
- Spending on the trams should be capped at the agreed current budget.
- The way local government deals with problems should be more transparent to the public by being published online.
- Edinburgh needs more council housing (source)
- Fewer schools with more pupils are best for our kids
- The Fife to Edinburgh hovercraft link should be a permanent service.
- There should be more funding for activities for teenagers.
- There should be more funding for parenting support programmes.
