Local issues in Edinburgh North and Leith
We're collecting local issues in Edinburgh North and Leith. Some of these have been turned into questions to put to the candidates standing at the 2010 general election in the form of a questionnaire.
Issues are no longer being turned into questions, but we still want them! A good local issue will be about a problem of local relevance, possibly suggesting how something should have been/be done.
- NHS Lothian is one of the best areas in the postcode lottery in which to get an abortion. Shouldn't Local reps be proud of this level of provision, and publicly oppose the pro-life brigade? (source)
- There should be recycling of all recyclable materials available for all residents.
- There should be more incentives to use public transport.
- There should be incentives for keeping old cars running for environmental reasons.
- There should be more police on the streets on Friday and Saturday evenings.
- There should be more funding for activities for teenagers.
