Local issues in Newcastle upon Tyne East
We're collecting local issues in Newcastle upon Tyne East. Some of these have been turned into questions to put to the candidates standing at the 2010 general election in the form of a questionnaire.
Issues are no longer being turned into questions, but we still want them! A good local issue will be about a problem of local relevance, possibly suggesting how something should have been/be done.
- What matters to people is litterless and safe streets
- Graffiti is positive, and artistic, and should be encouraged as opposed to Advertisement.
- antisocial behaviour is out of control (source)
- Local government should put more resources into creating local interestes and activities for teenagers
- Policing resources should be geared more to the protection of citizens against anti social behaviour
- Having 80% of households in Newcastle depend on an income from the state is not sustainable.
- The council should not be allowed to destroy colemans field in jesmond dene.
