Local issues in Sefton Central
We're collecting local issues in Sefton Central. Some of these have been turned into questions to put to the candidates standing at the 2010 general election in the form of a questionnaire.
Issues are no longer being turned into questions, but we still want them! A good local issue will be about a problem of local relevance, possibly suggesting how something should have been/be done.
- the Sainsbury's planning application for Crosby Village should be rejected becuase it will damage the village and prevent its genuine regeneration as a community centre. (source)

Local questions for candidate questionnaire
These are the questions that have been made out of the local issues Demoracy Club volunteers have posted. They'll make up the 'local' section of a questionnaire that TheyWorkForYou is developing in conjunction with Demoracy Club. Below the question is the local issue it's derived from.

'Localism' is apparently part of the new political language. If so making Crosby Village a true community centre for families, the young and old people and anyone needing commercial of public services should be a priority in these 'austere' times. Sainsbury's are still making big profits but want to impose a far too big new store in Crosby, spoiling it for most other groups and users. Their current planning application needs to b stopped and some of the money they have made from the crosby community needs to be reinveste in a much better quality solution.
