Local issues in West Lancashire
We're collecting local issues in West Lancashire. Some of these have been turned into questions to put to the candidates standing at the 2010 general election in the form of a questionnaire.
Issues are no longer being turned into questions, but we still want them! A good local issue will be about a problem of local relevance, possibly suggesting how something should have been/be done.
- The bypass around Ormskirk is an absolute must. (source)
- Pensioners should receive a full state pension that is worth 40% of the national wage. The funds exist in the National Insurance Fund, more than twice as much as is required for justice to be done.
- The accident and emergency department at Ormskirk Hospital should be re-opened.
- Pensioners' should receive free off-peak rail concessions to use the empty seats on Merseytravel trains that run in West Lancashire (source)
