Describe local issues in Dundee West
About this task
We need your help in researching local issues.
When we've done this, we hope to contact all the candidates, and ask them their opinions. It's a massive task to do this for the whole country, but the reward is similarly huge - a definitive database of what all the candidates at this election think about all the key issues - it's never been done before, anywhere in the world. And once it's over we'll be able to keep track of whether people did what they said they would, once elected.
Help For You In Doing This Task
- Have a think if you know about any important local issues already
- Try looking over election leaflets you've received, local newspapers and their websites, and your current MP's website
- Use Google to see if any of your other candidates have websites. If they do, read them to find if they make clear statements on local issues. If they don't have their own sites, check local newspaper sites or facebook to see if you can find anything. You could also check http://openlylocal.com/hyperlocal_sites for any nearby blogs. If you can't find any issues, why not drop some of your candidates a friendly email asking them to say what the most important changes they think need making in the constituency?
- You can ask questions and share experiences on the discussion forum here
- You can hold Democracy Club Local Meetings in a pub or cafe of your choice. Bring paper, pens, local newspapers, and be prepared to meet some friendly people. We need *you* to organise these get togethers, so go to this forum - and say you want to meet up.
- Get your friends to join DemocracyClub, and share the workload with them.

How do tasks work?
When we or other organisations suggest a task that you can do we will send you an email. This email will contain links to either start the task, say you've completed the task, or to ignore the task.
